Hey for a small town family style dinner, this isn't bad. We manage to come on Sunday. They now have a buffet all week, but each day have an All You Can Eat special.
Sunday they offer fried haddock, with a side, for $8.99. It is deep fried, so it may be greasy, but for someone craving fish, its not bad. For $1.99 extra you can add a salad bar, which is fresh, if not a large selection of items.
This is a good mom and pop restaurant. The building is huge on the inside and seats tons of people but it's never full. The meatloaf here is very good. The Sunday morning breakfast buffet is also very good. The place has been around for a while and can use a good overall cleaning but just from age. They also have a salad bar which is nice.
A hometown treasure on the main strip. The breakfast is down home cooking. Do not expect extremely healthy cooking. Keep in mind where you are if you eat here. This is a hard working farming community that enjoys hearty eating. The food is fresh and the gravy made from scratch. The restaurant is simple and well kept even though it show it's age. The only draw back is the limited parking in front. They have week day specials as well. I would recommend going with someone who frequents the establishment your first time so you know what is good to order and the best time to go.
We live in Pontoon Beach, an hour drive and go about once a month. Yes, it is a 'dive' as some would call it, but if you want the BEST catfish ever, this is your place. Ok, so the 'salad bar' is lacking, but it is always fresh and they have the best Ranch dressing ever!!! (would love to see pasta salad and cottage cheese tho').
It is not your 'high end restaurant, but it is a local long time establishment.......just the way I like it. The chicken is awesome as well. If you want 'fine dining', then by all means, pay more at a chain restaurant, but I prefer Fran & Marilyn's for catfish and salad............I'm a 'small town girl' and love this place!!!
BTW, I've traveled all over the world, ate in the of the best places around, including Emeril Lagassi's place in NYC, which was great, but I love this place.
Food was decent waitresses sucked young and not customer orientated. Dinner came asked waitress for catsup and mayonnaise. Waited. Waited. After 5 minutes I got up and asked again. Omg
